Main Street, U.S.A.: Attractions

1 - Disneyland Railroad
The classic Disneyland Railroad, a nice alternative to get around the park, is found in Munich. Each train is named after Walt Disney and his family, who had some German ancestry. There is Walt Disney, Roy Disney (Walt's brother), Lilian Disney (Walt's wife), and Elias Disney (Walt's father). All four trains move around the park daily.

There are four stations in the park, each designed differently. The journey from one station to another is always interesting with something new to see in each one.

Main Street Station
The station here looks a lot like the original Disneyland station, except with Victorian architecture and two towers. One of them is a clock tower while the other is a tower bearing flags, including an old American flag as well as one for the German Empire (the German state in the early 1900s.)

Once guests are all on the train, it begins to move. At first, it goes through the forest, but then certain things come into sight. They pass over a few mountain trails, which can be explored in Westernland, as well as scenic waterfalls. They also pass by several sights than can be seen on the riverboat, which will be discussed later. A few exclusive things include encounters with Audio-Animatronic animals, including bears scratching their backs on a tree, a woodpecker, and otters in a small pond.

Westernland Station
This station is set amidst the backdrop of the Thunder Mesa Mountain Range, making it more visually attractive. The station is done in a Wild West way. Unlike the dilapidated station of the nearby Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, this station is well-kept. As they wait in the queue, guests see departure times to American cities in the West.

When the train leaves the station, it begins to go through Adventureland's jungles. It goes behind the Temple of the Black Mirror before heading into a tunnel. From here, guests see many glowing crystals and even get a glimpse of Pirates of the Caribbean, where they see the skeletal remains of pirates in the grottos. Very soon, they will exit the tunnel and enter into a forest resembling the English countryside.
Fantasyland Station
This station is also done in Victorian style, except it leans on a more European approach. This features oil lamps, a single clock tower, and an arcade covering the train. This also features references to British Disney stories such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Winnie the Pooh.

The train takes off and moves underneath the Alps, where they see water flowing. This is a reference to the subterranean river in St. Beatus's. After exiting the tunnel, the train moves through a forest before passing into a third big tunnel. As they go through here, they can see part of "It's a Small World." They would exit the tunnel near Discoveryland, a black wall on a bridge keeping them from seeing Galaxy's Edge.
Discoveryland Station
This station is inspired by Steampunx designs of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The station is fashioned after a German train station, but there is a retrofuturistic vibe in it with steam-powered technology, old-looking machines, and drawings of advanced machinery on the walls of the black building.

Guests board the train and go past a large, black building and then in front of some Italian buildings. Afterwards, they go into a fourth tunnel that takes them behind TRON Lightcycle Run. An elecronic version of "There's a Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" plays in the background as they pass a model of Progress City, Walt's original idea for his Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow (an idea that would evolve into Epcot center.) After leaving the tunnel, they would pass by the Electric Driving Range before vanishing into a forest. From there, they would return to the Main Street Station.

2 - City Hall
This is where people can get help and services. It offers support for disabled people, people with health problems, and others.

3 - Immigrant Arcade
Located to the left side of Main Street is a passage giving back-door access to shops and restaurants. Done in late Victorian style, this place tributes German immigrants to the United States during the Gilded Age (late 1800s.)

4 - Possibility Arcade
Dedicated to the works of famous German scientists and visionaries, this passage to the right of Main Street gives people an alternate entrance into shops and restaurants. It goes from the Town Square all the way to the hub.

5 - Horse-Drawn Streetcars
For those looking for a ride to the hub, or simply wanting a scenic tour of the street, they can hop on these streetcars. Pulled by horses, these trolleys take guests from one end of the street to another, stopping in the street to let people off halfway if they want to.

6 - Omnibus
Another mode of transportation on Main Street is an omnibus. This double-decker bus takes guests to the hub and allows them to see the street from another angle.

7 - Mickey and the Sorcerer
Located in the Town Square theater, this is a show that displays the power of imagination. Join Mickey Mouse on an awe-inspiring journey as he learns to be a great sorcerer, encountering figures like Peter Pan, Elsa, the Genie, and others. This features dancing, visuals, and an original song, "It's Inside of You," that is sure to delight audiences and have them cheering for more.

  1. The description of the train route is great! I think sometimes people forget that the train in the park is actually a ride with entertainment value—not just a means to get to the other side of the park.
