Fantasyland: Attractions (Part 1)

23 - Snow White's Castle
Resembling the castle seen in the 1937 animated film, this beautiful structure allows guests to come in and look around in this stunning location. Complete with two shops and a bunch of stained glass windows telling Snow White's story, this is one castle that feels like it's straight out of a fairy tale.

24 - Dragon's Lair
Underneath Snow White's castle is a mysterious cavern where a dragon dwells. As it sleeps, smoke comes out of its nostrils. However, it will awaken from time to time, and when it does, things get steamy in the cave.

25 - Brothers Grimm Carousel
In the center of the Bavarian village is an elegant carousel celebrating the stories of the Brothers Grimm. Guests will come in and ride the horses, and as they do, they can look around for references to the sibling duo's famous fairy tales, such as "Rapunzel," "Snow White," "Hansel and Gretel," "Little Red Riding Hood," and "Rumplestiltskin."

26 - A Tangled Tale
Guests will enter this cozy German inn, where they will travel through the story of the 2010 film.

QUEUE:
In front of the building is a statue of Rapunzel's tower, which marks the location of the ride. Guests go behind it and travel through a Bavarian inn, which features several tapestries telling the prologue of the film. From there, they will board horse-drawn "carriages," even though the horses are not real and simply for design. The carriages seat up to four people, two in each row.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The ride starts out by moving through a forest scene, where Flynn Rider is looking for a place to hide. Maximus's shadow moves around on a wall, creating the illusion that the horse is nearby. Ahead is Rapunzel's tower. As the vehicles turn right, they go into the next scene.

The vehicles go through a large room with two scenes in it. The first scene is of Rapunzel drawing on the walls, singing "When Will my Life Begin?" It then turns to a second scene, where Flynn Rider is tied up in Rapunzel's hair, bargaining with her. The vehicles then go into another forest scene, where Rapunzel is having an internal conflict while Flynn is impatiently waiting nearby.

The vehicles then enter the Snuggly Duckling, where the thugs are singing "I have a dream." The hook-handed man is playing the piano while Rapunzel sings on the table. Flynn, in the meantime, is shaking in the corner. As they leave the scene, Mother Gothel can be seen outside the window.

The vehicles then go throgh a village scene, where the people of Corona are preparing for a festival. Flynn offers Maximus an apple, Rapunzel dances with some villagers in the square, and Pascal is looking at a mosaic of the lost princess, who looks somewhat familiar. They then go into a lagoon scene, where lanterns surround a boat with Flynn and Rapunzel, who are singing "I See the Light." In the meantime, the Stabbington brothers are in the shadows, looking menacingly at them.

The vehicles then pass through another two-scene room. One features Rapunzel discovering her identity, with sun symbols glowing all over the room. Then, they pass through the main room, where Rapunzel, whose hair has been cut, is healing Flynn, who has a flower glowing on his chest. In the meantime, Mother Gothel's shadow falls out the window.

The final scene of the ride is where Rapunzel is reunited with her parents. Lanterns fly all around as the kingdom celebrates her return. Even Pascal, who is sitting on Maximus, is admiring the lights. After this, the vehicles return to the loading station, where they follow a path back to Fantasyland.

27 - Royal Chateau
This is a place where guests can meet the Disney Princesses. It has two lines, both showing three princesses. The left line features Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora while the right line features Belle, Tiana, and Rapunzel.

28 - Storybook Land Canals
Enjoy a relaxing ride through the land of stories, featuring several miniature models and a musical score for each place.

Guests move around a dock, where a giant book is. From there, they board their boats and begin to move. Unlike the Disneyland version of the ride, there is no narrator. The places are narrated by an on-boat audio system.

Here are the places guests will see in the order they are seen:
  • Belle's Village from Beauty and the Beast
  • The Seven Dwarfs' Cottage from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • Prince Eric's castle from The Little Mermaid
  • The French countryside from Cinderella
  • Toad Hall from The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
  • The Queen of Hearts' castle from Alice in Wonderland
  • The Sultan's Palace and the Cave of Wonders (which swallows the boats) from Aladdin
  • Mount Olympus from Hercules
  • The Italian village from Pinocchio
  • The Fairies' cottage from Sleeping Beauty
29 - Alpine Gondola
Connecting the Bavarian and Alpine village is a gondola, which takes guests to the top of the mountain. Here, they are seated in the cable car as it goes over Storybook Land and into the Alps.

30 - Matterhorn Bobsleds
Take a scenic ride through the Alps, coming face-to-face with the Abominable Snowman along the way.

QUEUE:
Guests start by going into an Alpine cottage that displays evidence on the existence of the A.S., polka music playing overhead as they do. They also pass by several posters of bobsled teams in Switzerland as well as things educating them about the Matterhorn. Soon, they will come out of the house and to the loading area, where they board their bobsleds. They are just like the Disneyland version, except not as rickety.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The vehicles move around a lake and towards the mountain. As they arrive, they begin to ascend a lift, which takes them to the peak. From there, the only way to go is down, so their ride begins. They go through the mountain and pass through a cave full of crystals before going outside. They pass by a yodeler blowing out of an alp horn before going into a second cave, where they go behind a waterfall filling the lake.

After coming out, they continue to ride down the mountain, passing two mountain goats along the way. They soon enter a dark cave where damaged bobsleds are. An Abominable Snowman is seen on the side, growling at guests as they move past. They leave the cave, but the trees seem to be falling down. This is supposed to create the illusion of an avalanche, which is further amplified in the next cave. Screens show snow moving down, forcing the bobsleds to go down quicker.

At the end of the ride, they go out of the mountain and through a forest. This extended track simulates the bobsleds in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Not only does it add a higher thrill level, but it gives the vehicles a chance to slow down. After this, they return to the loading station and get off.

POST-RIDE:
The guests follow a path into a gift shop called Alpine Accessories, where they can purchase photos of them taken on the ride as well as merchandise themed to the attraction.
