Fantasyland: Attractions (Part 2)

31 - Mad Hatter's Teacups
Come into a colorful pavilion in the center of an English town and take a seat in an oversized cup. As whimsical music plays around, guests can spin their cup as they twirl through the pavilion.
32 - Peter Pan's Flight
Go on a flight over Neverland with Peter and the Darling children.

QUEUE:
The facade of the attraction recreates a cottage in the English countryside, marked by a clock tower resembling Big Ben. Guests move into the tower and go around the waiting area, which is designed to look like the inner workings of a clock tower. Gears turn above them and a ticking noise is heard in the background. At the end of this area, they will board their flying boats. Like a lot of versions of the attraction, these boats sit up to two people and have a lap bar.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The boats fly into the Darling house, where the siblings are in bed. In the meantime, Peter Pan's shadow can be seen moving across the wall, as well as a small light (Tinker Bell.) The boat then turns and reveals Peter standing near the window. As the window opens, he shouts "Here we go!"

The flight begins by going over the backyards of several house. Nana is seen tied to a tree below. Other dogs look up, barking at the boats as they move. The boats then move through a street, where civilians are watching them in awe. Next thing they know, guests are flying over a miniature London town, seeing sights like Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and St. Paul's Cathedral.

As they exit the scene, they go to the second star on the right. When they turn, they enter Neverland. From here, they can see the sights of the island, including the jungle, the mermaid lagoon, the Indian camp, and Skull Rock. Captain Hook's pirate ship is seen close by.

The boats then move into the next scene, where they are flying around the ship. Captain Hook tries to make the children walk the plank, but Peter distracts him. It then passes them on the mast of the ship, dueling. Finally, it goes to the wheel, where Peter and the children are steering while Hook is below in the water, standing on the jaws of the Tick-Tock Croc. Mr. Smee is in a rowboat nearby, watching his captain's peril.

The final scene of the ride is where they pass by the Lost Boys' treehouse, where Peter gives guests instructions on how to get back to London. The boats move through darkness before seeing the light of Big Ben. From there, they turn back into the loading area and get off their boats.
33 - Alice in Wonderland
Travel through a world of Nonsense on your way to an unbirthday party. Although it has a similar ride system, this is different from the Disneyland version. It is entirely indoors and only takes up on floor.

QUEUE:
While the outsides still look like an English cottage, they have several hearts (referencing the Queen of Hearts) and hats (referencing the Mad Hatter) around it. As the guests go inside, they walk past images of things in Wonderland. Afterwards, they board their "caterpillars" and sit down.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The caterpillars begin by moving through the countryside, passing Alice and her kitten, who are sitting near a tree. They come across the White Rabbit, who looks at his pocket watch and says how he is late. From there, they go into the rabbit hole, where furniture "floats" in midair (this is really just an illusion) before moving down a tunnel of doors. They see Alice shrink before going into one of the doors.

Afterwards, they move into a giant garden, where they pass the hookah-smoking caterpillar. They also pass by Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who are singing "The Walrus and the Carpenter." The scene then turns into the White Rabbit's house, where a giant Alice is stuck inside. The White Rabbit panics from the outside, saying how he will never get to the party like this.

The caterpillars enter a forest, where they encounter the Cheshire Cat numerous times. He disappears and reappears in several places. During their last encounter with the cat, only his eyes and smile remain.

From there, they enter the Queen of Hearts' garden, where they pass roses painted red and some card soldiers. They also pass her croquet set, a flamingo and a hedgehog, before passing by the Queen herself, who is challenging Alice to a game. Nearby is the King of Hearts, who also acknowledges the guests. The vehicles then enter the Queen's courtroom, where she demands "Off with their heads!" The vehicles, surrounded by card soldiers, make a desperate escape from the room.

In the final room of the ride, the vehicles pass by the Mad Hatter's tea party. He and the March Hare, as well as Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Cheshire Cat, are enjoying an unbirthday party. After this, the vehicles return to the loading station and guests get off, taking a passage into the Curiouser and Curiouser shop.
34 - The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Join Winnie the Pooh and his friends on a journey through the Hundred Acre Woods.

QUEUE:
Guests enter an English cottage, the only one without references to something in its design. There, they move through the interior of the house, passing through a kitchen, piano room, and the bedroom of Christopher Robin, each with "books" that guests can read, telling of Pooh and his adventures. Then, they enter the library, where they board beehive-themed vehicles.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The vehicles move toward a giant book of Winnie the Pooh, which opens as they go in. They move into a scene depicting a blustery day, in which Pooh is flying on a balloon and seeing what is happening. Rabbit is watching over his crops, Kanga is holding on to a kite, which has Roo at the end of it, and Eeyore's house falls down. They also go through Owl's house, where he is complaining about the weather.

Afterwards, they will go into a nighttime setting, where they bounce through the forest with Tigger. The vehicles move up and down to recreating this feeling. Tigger comes out of the bushes every here and there. Soon, they will pass by Pooh's house, where Tigger is on Pooh, warning him of Heffalumps and Woozles.

They go into Pooh's house, where Pooh is fast asleep. Using a pepper's ghost effect, a transparent Pooh floats up while his balloon grows Heffalump ears and eyes. They enter a dream sequence, where the Heffalumps and Woozles are all over, eating honey.

Then, the vehicles enter a storm. The vehicles move up and down again to make it feel like they are floating down a river. Here, they see Pooh and his friends trying to save Piglet, who is on a log and drifting away.

The final scene of the ride features the guests moving past a party, where Pooh's friends are celebrating Piglet's rescue and good weather. They also pass by Pooh, who is snacking on some honey. Afterwards, the vehicles return to the library and the guests get off.

POST-RIDE:
Guests take a passageway out of the library and into another cottage, Pooh Corner. This is a mix between a gift shop and a bakery, where they can purchase snacks and merchandise.
35 - Dumbo the Flying Elephant
In a vibrant circus area, guests can get on a big-eared elephant and fly around in a circle. As they do, Timothy Q. Mouse stands in the center, leading them.
36 - Casey, Jr. Circus Train
Guests can take a gentle ride through Storybook Land on this train, inspired by the one seen in Dumbo. This offers a new view of the land and the people sailing through it.

  1. Winnie the Pooh is one of my favorites! I think I’ve only ridden Alice at DL once. I should do it again.
