Discoveryland: Attractions (Part 2)

 

56 - Orbitron

Spin around in flying machines themed to Da Vinci's planetary model. As guests spin, they can see a nice view of the Italian village around them.

57 - Da Vinci Fortress

Inside a giant Renaissance-era fortress is where guests can explore the science and inventory of Leonardo Da Vinci. It's a famous tribute to the philosopher that they shall be inspired by.

58 - Soarin' on the Flying Machine

This version of the popular attraction tributes a dream that Da Vinci had, to fly like a bird. This is a lot like the Soarin' around the World version of the ride, except with a storyline and a different ending.

QUEUE:

Guests walk into a large, Italian villa at the back of the land. There, they move through the interior, which showcases several flying machines. This includes Chinese, Arabian, and Medieval European takes on flying machines.

Soon, guests will come down one of two hallways. There, they will meet an audio-animatronic figure of a wise Renaissance man, who explains Da Vinci's idea to fly like a bird. Although his vision was unrealized, they have finally put it together and are allowing guests to be the first ones on. After a safety spiel delivered through a series of drawings, guests enter the theater.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:

Guests walk into the theater and go to the gliders, which are designed to look like Da Vinci's flying machine. They will store their belonging below them and strap themselves in.

Once they are raised into the air, the guests will travel to many iconic locations. This includes the Matterhorn, the Great Wall of China, the Sydney Harbor, the Taj Mahal, Monument Valley, Neuschwanstein Castle, as well as others. Their final destination is Munich itself, where fireworks go off as they rise into the sky.

After the show, the vehicles will go down and guests will get off. Once they've grabbed their belongings, they will exit through a tunnel back into Discoveryland.
